GENERAL RULES 1. Paint the object in the color desired and let it dry. 2. Draw or tracé the design to be painted. 3. Paint the background color behlnd the design. 4. Paint the darker value of color behind the edge of the design and blend with brush. It is easier to blend colors and values when paint is thicker. For the petals of the flowers use a creamier, smoother paint and do as few strokes as possible. Usually you push your brush down, then pull toward you, curve and lift, or just Push, Pull, and Lift. Make dots, jabs, swirls and daubs — any means to get the desired effect. In preparation you may use oil paint over dll paint, or oil paint over acrylic when dry, or acrylic over acrylic, but do not use acrylic over oil paint.
