INTRODUCTIONWelcome to FantasyCon 2012, the convention that nearly wasn't! We're delighted to be able to welcome you back to Brighton, and the Royal Albion Hotel, the scene of last year's convention.As the majority of you probably know, this year the convention was due to be held in Corbyuntil the organisers pulled out in October, leaving the British Fantasy Society with the prospect of not having a FantasyCon this year. At that point, Stephen Jones, Amanda Foubister, Michael Marshall Smith of the World Fantasy 2013 Committee and the Chairs of the FantasyCon 2011 Committee stepped in to make sure that didn't happen. We started late, but have done our best to ensure you all have a good timehopefully we've put together a fun convention for you.We've been very lucky in finding some great Guests of Honour: Joe R. Lans-dale, Muriel Gray and Brent Weeks are joined by Special Guests Mary Danby, Mark Gatiss and Robin Hardy, with Tim Lebbon acting as our Master of Ceremonies.Inside your goodie bags, along with this souvenir programme and various other goodies, you'll find a pocket programme, detailing the weekend's events which alongside a packed schedule of panels, interviews and book launchesinclude the Fantastique Friday Quiz, hosted by Sarah Pinborough and joe Abercrombie, and the FantasyCon 2012 Raffle, brought to you by Guy Adams and John L. Probert.On Saturday night we have a full evening of entertainment provided by Esther Sherman, Reggie Oliver et al.On Sunday morning the BFS AGM will take place in the Russell Room, and will be followed by the fabulous FantasyCon 2012 Banquet, which culminates with the prestigious British Fantasy Awards Ceremony.Finally, after all that, events come to a conclusion with the Dead Dog Party on Sunday afternoon and evening, sponsored this year by World Fantasy Convention 2013, where everyone gets a chance to unwind, have a drink and say their goodbyes.This year's convention is the result of a lot of hard work from everyoneand thanks are due to Stephen Jones, Amanda Foubister, Michael Marshall Smith, Lou Morgan, Martin Roberts, Helen Hopley, Jenny Barberand last but by no
