Bővebb ismertető
Győr is today the most important industrial town of western Hungary known as Transdanubia. In the period of the House of Árpád, Hungary's first ruling dynasty (1000-1301), it was one of the country's most important urban settlements: from the political, economic and cultural aspects alike it came after Esztergom, Fehérvár and Veszprém. Its medieval nucleus comprised the inner and outer fortress, the Káptalan-Győr (Capitular Győr), the Királyi-Győr (Royal Győr) built on the area of today's distillery,Ground-plan of the inner city of Győr with the existing (continuous line) and the demolished (dotted line) walls and bastions of the fortress1Castle Bastion7 Holy Hill Bastion2Sforza Semi-bastion8 Danube Bastion3Magyar BastionI Danube Gate4Emperor BastionII Vienna Gate5New BastionIII Fehérvár Gate6Central Bastion
