In the 'Tour of the Castle' on pages 4 and 5, the features described are numbered so that reference can be made to the plan on this page.The visitor is guided through the Lower and Middle Wards to the State Apartments and these are illustrated J and described in the order in which 1 they are viewed. Finally, there is a concise history of the Castle from its 1 earliest beginnings to the present day. HThe State Apartments The State Apartments are open dailyJ from 10.30a.m. on weekdays, and from 1.30p.m. on Sundays (when 1 British Summer Time is in force)fl except when The Queen is in Officia Residence, that is usually during the j month of April, and for periods during March, May, June, DecembM and 1 January. They are closed on Sundays during the winter when Greenwich Mean Time is in forceflQueen Mary's Dolls' House* & Exhibition of Drawings Queen Mary's Dolls' House and the Exhibition of Drawings are open daily from 10.30a.m. on weekdays and from 1.30p.m. on Sundays when British Summer Time is in forcey except on 1 January, Good Friday,* Christmas and the day in Junelon which the Garter Service is held in St George's Chapel. They are closed on Sundays during the winter when Greenwich Mean Time is in force. jExhibition of the Queen's Present and Royal CarriagesIn the Mews, approached via St Alban's Street opposite the Castle Entrance, there is an exhibition of carriages and other items of eques-trian interest, and gifts to The Queen during her reign. It is open to the public at the same times as Queen Mary's Dolls' House and the Exhibi-I tion of Drawings, except Sundays from May to August when the exhibition is open from 10.30a.m. The en-trance is in St Alban's Street. 3Castle Precincts 'l The Precincts of the Castle remain: open throughout the year (including Sundays) from lOa.m. to (later in the summer). The Precincts of the Castle are closed on the day in June on which the Garter Service ié held in St George's Chapel.
