Mili-m-r .iimi Read about these tests, CATS and LOOK SHARP ! This booklet is a part of the LOOK SHARPI Project of Intematioiud House Language School, Hungary (IHLS). The aim of this project is to provide for the various needs of students of Engliah, French, German, Hungarian, Italian, Russian and Spaniah by offering them tests that enhance the efficiency of standard series of textliooks In a wide spectrum of skills (grammar, vocabulary, reading comprehension, reading speed, listening comprehension, function etc.) and subjects (General Knowledge, General Science, History, Geography, Literature, Fine Arts, various fields of engineering, human relations, management, personality tests, LQ. tests etc.). All the LOOK SHARP! tests are classified according to language, akitl or subject and level. The firat character of the Teat Nr. gives the hinguage (E for English, F for French, D for German, H for Hungarian, I for Italian, R for Russian and S for Spanish), the aecond character gives the level. The tests written for standard textbooks are classified by numbers 0 to 9 and they show the absolute level of testing. The test booklets on specific subjects, however, are classified only according to the level of comparative difficulty and this is referred to by letters A, B, C etc. This only means that level A will probably be easier for most students than level D. The third character of every Teat Nr. denotes the particular skill or subject the test booklet concentrates on. Though students may profit from the test booklets themselves, we encourage everybody to try to do the testing on our Computer Aided Testing System (CATS) at least once and then decide on the method to use. LOOK SHARPI and CATS combine the use of the printed page {True-False-, Multiple Choice-, Matching-, and Find the Odd Man type of tests) and that of a programmable pocket computer. It offers step by step feedback to the student by telling him whether his answer was correct or not, displays the correct answer, calculates the acore and reading speed, measures the time and gives a printed certificate of achievement.
