Read about these tests, CATS and IjOOK SHARP !This booklet is a part of the LOOK SHARPI Project of Intematiouil Hoiu Language School, Hungary (IHLS). The aim of this project is to provide for the various needs of students of English, French, German, Hungarian, Italian, Russian and Spanish by offering them tests that enhance the efficiency of standard series of textbooks in a wide spectrum of skills (grammar, vocabulary, reading comprehension, reading speed, listening comprehension, function etc.) and subjects (General Knowledge, General Science, History, Geography, Literature, Fine Arts, various fields of engineering, human relations, management, personality tests, I.Q. tests etc.).All the LOOK SHARPI tests are classified according to language, skill or subject and level. The first character of the Test Nr. gives the language (E for English, F for French, D for German, H for Hungarian, I for Italian, R for Russian and S for Spanish), the second character gives the leveL The tests written for standard textbooks are classified by numbers 0 to 9 and they show the absolute level of testing. The test booklets on specific subjects, however, are classified only according to the level of comparative difficulty and this is referred to by letters A, B, C etc. This only means that level A will probably be easier for most students than level D. The third character of every Test Nr. denotes the particular skill or subject the test booklet concentrates on.Though students may profit from the test booklets themselves, wc cncourage everybody to try to do the testing on our Computer Aided Testing System (CATS) at least once and then decide on the method to use.LOOK SHARP! and CATS combine the use of the printed iwge {True- False-, Multiple Choice-, Matching-, and Find the Odd Man tyfxi of tests) and that of a programmable pocicet computer. It t>ffers step by step feedback to the student by t(-lling him whether his answer was correct or not, lays the correi'l answer, calculates the score and reading speed, measures the lime and gives a printed certificate of achievement.
