Foreword to teachers There is no such thing as a 'typical' Summary question today. Examination boards are highly individual in their methods of testing. The questions that follow the passages in this book are therefore deliberately varied, but they are based on current trends. In addition, certain passages are followed by questions specially designed to help the student's approach to Summary in generál. A more basic grounding in this subject can be found in the first part of this course: Making a Summary - First steps and practice. This is published as a separate volume.
