Bővebb ismertető
This text is optimally designed for use during two semesters or three quarters. We do understand that other time frames need to be taken intő consideration, so we offer additional patterns. We start with two semester configurations and then present three patterns for the quarter system. We recognize that many other patterns are possible. The Semester System For two semesters First semester: Chapters I through 6. Second semester: Chapters 7 through 12. For one semester Introductory: Chapters 1 through 6. Standard: Chapters 1, 2, 3, 5, 7, 9. Advanced: Chapters 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 10. The Quarter System For three quarters: First quarter: Chapters 1 through 4. Second quarter: Chapters 5 through 8. Third quarter: Chapters 9 through 12. For two quarters First quarter: Chapters 1, 3, 5, 7. Second quarter: Chapters 8, 9, 10, 11. For one quarter Introductory: Chapters 1, 2, 3, 5. Standard: Chapters 1, 3, 5, 7. When chapters are skipped, we suggest that you cover any new code in those chapters. The logic patterns can usually be picked up in the selected chapters. The Reinforcement Exercises throughout the text are suitable for group or prepared presentations, and the chapter-end questions can function as standard homework. Students are not expected to do more than one major programming assignment per chapter. Doing more than one to complete specifications (the recommended assignment) requires considerable time and energy and should be an option for more experienced students. The Solutions Manual can be a help in determining which assignments to make.
