Preface This book presents lectures of seminar and meeting organized within the frame of TEMPUS JEP (No. 9240), focusing on three topics. The first part deals with forms of soil degradation and soil / pollutants interactions. These papers provide a basis for the subsequent chapters. Part II discusses mobility, availability and impact of pollutants. Part III surveys the principles of the risk assessment and the remediation possibilities.
